Girl power is definitely where it is at with UK company Ingenues. The company produce fun, and educational activity boxes promoting strong female role models. The kits include an astronaut set focusing on Mae Jemison, a pilot set all about Amy Johnson, and a nurses set featuring Mary Seacole. All ordinary women who had extraordinary careers in very different fields. In a world where pink, fairies and princesses seems to be the main options for girls it is so refreshing to see a company celebrating all things opposite!!
There are more kits planned for the future celebrating engineering amongst other non traditional female careers.
All the kits are designed and manufactured in the UK by small businesses, and are on sale online and are also popping up in a number of museum gift shops.
