This is the third time I have had the pleasure of photographing this family, and this time we decided to meet at the beautiful Hardwick Hall in Derbyshire for their latest set of family portraits.
Hardwick is a gorgeous setting for a portrait shoot, and meant that the children could run around and let off steam fairly oblivious to the fact they were having their photographs taken. The beautiful gardens, with piles of leaves, fairy houses and hidden pathways made for a great backdrop to this family portrait shoot. We were incredibly lucky with the weather having a morning of winter sunshine to shoot in.
Recording moments in time for growing families is so important – this is the photography that will be seen by grandchildren and generations to come. For me these shoots are about making sure the kids have fun, but also watching out for those tiny moments of interaction between a parent and their children. A touch of a hand, a wink, a reassuring look, a cheeky grin…..x
